1. Summary
Zim Process Viewer is a native macOS utility that lets you view, inspect, and terminate processes running on your Mac. The App does not collect, store, share, or transmit any personal information or user data. All processing happens locally on your device.
In short: We do not have access to your personal data. Nothing leaves your Mac.
2. Information We Collect
We do not collect any personal information. The App operates entirely on your device and does not send any data to our servers or any third-party servers.
To provide its features, the App reads the following local, non-personal system information using standard macOS command-line tools:
- Process list — obtained via
/bin/ps, including process names, PIDs, memory usage, CPU time, and uptime. - Network port information — obtained via
/usr/sbin/lsofto identify processes listening on specific ports. - System memory information — total physical memory, used to calculate per-process memory estimates.
This information is displayed on-screen only and is never stored, logged, or transmitted.
3. How We Use Information
The locally read system information is used solely to display the process list and to perform actions you explicitly initiate, such as:
- Showing running processes and their resource usage.
- Terminating a process when you click "Kill".
- Finding and killing a process listening on a port you specify.
- Showing process details (executable path, running time, network ports).
No usage analytics, crash reports, or telemetry are collected by the App.
4. Data Storage & Retention
The App does not store any data. Process information exists only in your Mac's memory while the App is running and is discarded when you quit the App. No files, databases, or persistent logs are created on your device by the App.
5. Third-Party Services
The App does not use any third-party services, SDKs, analytics tools, advertising frameworks, or tracking libraries. The App does not make any network requests.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is a developer utility and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. Since we do not collect any personal information at all, no parental consent is required.
7. Your Rights
Because the App does not collect or store any personal data, there is no personal data to access, correct, or delete. You have full control over the App — simply uninstall it to remove all traces from your device.
8. Data Security
Since no data leaves your device and no data is stored, there is no risk of data breach associated with the App. The App runs with your user's permissions and only performs actions you explicitly initiate. System-critical processes are protected from accidental termination.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
